Warning: Key plot points for the latest installment of the new season are included.

The Combat-Oriented Party Unveiled

The latest chapter ended with a major cliffhanger and introduced the initial group of characters who will separate from the central cast to begin their independent quest, apart from the other two tables.

The Soldiers table includes the determined fighter (portrayed by Travis), Thimble (the talented performer), Tyranny (the cast member), Wicander Halovar (the player), and the mysterious adventurer (the actor).

The Reason for Division

Considering an extensive roster, it was obvious from the outset that having everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.

This explains, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, intertwining the personal journeys before dividing into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Schemers, and Questers.

Characteristics of the Combat Party

According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Soldiers table is for participants who enjoy a classically intense combat and conflict-driven story mode where diplomatic options are rare.

Initially, characters like the squeamish cleric Wicander Halovar might appear mismatched, but the events of episode 3 demonstrate why these five characters are best suited for the combat party.

Motivations for Departure

First, the group has a clear idea where to go next after a brutal initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.

Casimir of Thjazi Fang—whose death initiated the campaign’s events—manipulated the enemy for his selfish purposes, entering the hidden lair, striking the character, and taking all the enchanted items to dispose of.

The antagonist then cleared his liabilities and ran away to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, north of the urban center, with Cyd hot on his heels.

Personal Motivations

Secondly, each member has a personal reason to depart the metropolitan area:

  • Thimble, as the close ally and trusted friend, wants vengeance.
  • The knowledgeable figure is familiar with Timmony and warns that it is a nasty location.
  • The warrior and Wicander, having defied his relatives’ demands to kill Teor and instead rescued him, have nowhere else to go.
  • Yet, their position as prominent individuals in House Halovar could help the team access areas they usually can’t.
  • Furthermore, Teor vowed a life debt to Wicander for his salvation and will now go with him anywhere.

Fugitives

Finally, all of them are sought by the authorities that control the setting for a multiple motives, making remaining behind too risky:

  • The agile adventurer and The character are notorious outlaws.
  • Tyranny and The healer betrayed the influential house and the legion of demons they are allied with.
  • The fighter is marked for death by the clan.

This means them no alternative but to journey toward Timmony in search of the antagonist.

Future Episodes

According to the recent installment’s post-show segment, we discover that the combat party won’t be around in the upcoming installment, leaving the remaining eight cast members to form the Explorers and Strategists groups.

Fans can anticipate discovering which characters will be in which group in the season’s concluding setup installment, streaming live on next week.
